Go Tigers!

Our brother-in-law, Todd, coaches for the Stony Point Tigers in Round Rock and they are in the play-offs. My mother, grandparents, and aunt and uncle came up to go to his game in Waco on Saturday. They stayed the night and we all enjoyed a nice lunch at Callie's today. As you can see from the pictures, Abigail was super-happy and Ben had a blast. It was so nice to see everyone...and Todd's team (the Tigers) WON...38-6!

Happy Thanksgiving

We were so happy to host Dan's grandparents (GGma and GGpa), mother (Granny), and brother (Uncle Tim) for Thanksgiving. They came from California and the Dallas area. We also enjoyed a trip downtown to watch the Aggie Corps and Band march down Congress on Thanksgiving day and a nice dinner at my sister's house on Friday (thanks again Callie).

A Boy of Many Talents

He's a hairdresser...(this got to be quite painful!).
and a cleaner...just like Daddy. Notice how he picks up the crumbs, puts them in his hand and then throws them away. I guess we should teach him how to use a dust pan!
...and a wonderful Big Brother! He doesn't mind sharing storytime...and Daddy...with Abigail.

In Loving Memory

Rosby Lynn Jamieson
May 16, 2000-November 19, 2008Today has been a very sad day for our family. We had to put our Rosby down. She has been dealing with a nasty brain tumor for a few months and after many medications, she continued to decline. I don't even know how to begin to tell everyone what a wonderful dog she was...those of you who had the pleasure of knowing her remember. As we drove home from the vet's office Dan and I laughed and cried as we remembered...

*how she would steal and taunt us with our socks
*how she would bark everytime the Nextel commercials came on (beep beep)
*how no matter where she was in the house, she ALWAYS knew when I opened the lunchmeat drawer in the fridge...she just LOVED turkey
*how she could out-burp any dog or human around
*how she was always so good with our other babies, Ben and Abigail
*how she loved to cuddle with us
*how she would give us kisses everytime we requested them and even when we didn't :)
*how she once snuck some licks of Dan's ravioli and had a red muzzle as evidence
*how she would greet us with her body shaped like a 'c'
*how she always drank in groups of three licks...lick, lick, lick
*how she always laid down with one back leg out
*how she smelled like Fritos when she slept (gross, I know-but it's true)
*how she put her paws on Dan's shoulders as she licked his face...and when he tried to move her away, she would bat his hand away with her paw
*how she absolutely LOVED to lay in the sun...and on the back of the couch, looking out the window (that part of the couch will probably smell like Fritos forever!)
*how she was the best tugger in the whole world!
*how she would hop around nesting until she found just-the-right-spot to lay down
*how she never quite learned to roll over...she always thought just onto her back was good enough...and it was

These are the memories we are focusing on, rather than how tough the last three months have been.
Rosby, we could not have asked for a better pet for our family and you will truly be missed. Thank you for being part of our lives. We love you and we are so so sorry that you had to leave us so soon.

Crazy Boys!

Benjamin and Daddy were acting like "biker scouts" (from Star Wars) this morning, using lacross sticks as light sabers/bikes. Daddy was in just shorts, so Ben ran to his room and came out with-yep, you guessed it-just shorts. Ben said they needed 'helmets', so they wore knit hats. Ben has been calling Daddy, "biker scout" instead of Daddy all day. I'm not sure had more fun, Ben or Daddy!

Last Soccer Game

Well, soccer is officially over. Benjamin had his last game yesterday morning and it was WINDY and FREEZING! He did great...he played almost the whole game! His team met for a pizza party later, which was so nice.

Here is Abigail, ready to brave the weather...don't worry we kept her in the stroller and shielded from the cold and wind. Lucky her...

Ben on the field...you can see how cold it was by what everyone is wearing. Ben is the one with the maroon hat.

Ben shows off his soccer medal.

The coaches brought cupcakes. Ben and one of his coaches, Coach Bo.

First Fire

We were so happy to be able to light a fire tonight. Ben helped Daddy and was so excited when he learned the fireplace led up to the chimney. We read books by the fire at bedtime, it was great. It makes me feel like the holidays are fast-approaching...wait, they ARE!
Watching the....fire.
I love the way Ben was looking at the fire in this pic.

PEAS!!!

Well, we've moved on from cereal to venture into the land of vegetables...beginning with peas. Abigail didn't seem to like them too much, but maybe it was just her adjusting to yet another new texture. We'll try them for a few days and then move onto something new...

Soccer Update

Benjamin had an evening soccer game tonight....and...HE PLAYED!!! Boy, did he play. When it was his turn to sit out, he kept saying he wanted to go back in...amazing...and so much fun.
Here he is waiting his turn and holding his Smarties (his reward for doing a good job, hey-whatever works).

Waiting for kick-off...

Practicing his "Super Kick"

And Kicking!
You can tell he was starting to run away from the ball as soon as he kicked it.
