The Yankees Win!

Dan has been teaching Benjamin the infamous announcement after the Yankees win a game. It is said by an announcer on the Yankee radio network. Benjamin will say it at random times and it is so funny. He has never actually heard the real announcement, only Dan's account of it. We got him out of bed (I know, bad parents!) so that he could hear it live on Dan's XM radio. Since it has been rare this season for the Yankees to win, we didn't want to miss the opportunity.

Waiting patiently in anticipation for that 3rd out.

Smiling for Mama. And here it is- "Ball Game Over, Yankees Win, Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win!" Benjamin follows the announcer with his own announcement of the Yankee win. He's actually really good at it!

Three Months Old!!!

Good Morning Sunshine!
I woke Abigail up around 8:30...such a good sleeper! She'll have to get used to getting up earlier once she starts daycare. :(
We spent Abigail's 1/4 birthday with Gammy. We went to bookstores and lunch and had a wonderful day!
Big Stretch!
Whoah! That's some flash!
She's moving all around; she'll be able to roll over soon! Smiles for Gammy!

Dogsitting

Shame Shame on Uncle Dan! He let Zeus on the couch. Zeus stayed the night while Callie and family got settled in their new home. He was such a good boy!

Holding Abigail

Cayden and Avery spent the evening with us while Callie and Gammy waited for the movers to unload the truck at the new house.
Everyone enjoys watching America's Funniest Videos.
Taking turns holdin Abigail.
Whoah, check out that hair! Sorry, Callie...didn't have her put her headband back on for the pic.

Uncle Larry's Visit

Uncle Larry had business in Round Rock, so we were able to enjoy a short visit with him. He came by and played with the kids, read Ben a bedtime story, and went on his way. It was very nice of him to stop by; we had a great time.

Swing Time

Abigail has been enjoying her swing. It's got all of the bells and whistles and was our one big splurge on her since we used most of Benjamin's things for her. She screamed the first few times we put her in it, but we kept trying it and she seems to like it now.

Aaargh Matey!

We got Benjamin a dress-up trunk for Christmas and he has really made good use of it. Here he is as a pirate...he is having fun using his sword to fight the bad guys. He actually got himself all dressed up with no help.

Helping Daddy

Ben enjoyed helping Daddy mow the grass, although he was pretty scared of how Daddy's lawnmower spit out grass. He made sure to stay clear of the big lawnmower and would run into the garage everytime he heard it come near. Ben dressed himself again...warm pants, that boy loves wearing pants. He also wore his gardening gloves and hat so that he could "do work". We were lucky to have quite a nice morning. Ben was able to play with his neighbor-friend, Karl until lunchtime...in his warm pants.

Ben worked really hard to mow through that thick, tall grass.Keeping an eye on Daddy to make sure he stays far away with that scary lawnmower.Daddy does all of the hard work!Like father, like son.

Muscles!

Dan prides himself on being disciplined and working out regularly (sure do wish I had a smidgen of that discipline!). Benjamin wants to be just like his Daddy. He's been saying, "Look at my muscles!". Abigail's just thinking, 'What are these crazy boys doing???'.

Home with Daddy

Daddy took care of Abigail while I went to work for two days this week. It was really hard to be away from her, but I managed since I knew she was in good hands. We will continue this (Dan with her two days a week, me three) until September 29th. Then she will start at a local daycare. That will be really difficult to adjust to...hopefully more for me and not Abigail.
Daddy took these great pics during his time with Abigail.

Here are some pics I took when I got home from work...I remember pics of Dan and Ben just like this. I'll have to find them and post them. Aunt Linda (Dan's mom's sister) made this wonderful blanket for Benjamin and now we can enjoy it with Abigail as well. Thanks Aunt Linda!

"First Day of School"

Ben is all ready to go to school. He started in Mrs. Alisha's class, the "big kid class". He did great his first day. He adjusted well to the change, which is great.
Ben in front of his cubby. He can hang up his own backpack now...it's the little things :).
Ben's "new spot", the Letter K. They have switched from shapes to letters.
Ben sits on his "new spot". Ben's new classroom has this really cool reading loft. Ben acts silly as he shows me where he sits during learning time.

Bath Time Pics

We finally got some pictures of Ben and Abigail together with their hooded towels on; aren't they cute?

Off to Register for Soccer

Ben dressed up extra special for our trip to Taylor where we registered him to play soccer this fall. He played in the spring and seemed to enjoy it. Just to break down his outfit of choice: His policeman shirt from his dress-up trunk; his Buzz Lightyear hat and gloves; his two penguins that had to travel together because "they are friends". Needless to say, he got some looks. Oh well, we had fun.

Changing Classrooms

Benjamin has been in the same classroom since he was 18 months old...for 2 years! Well, it is finally time for him to move on to Ms. Alisha's class. He starts on Monday. Fortunately, he knows her and the classroom well. He will also be accompanied by four of his friends.

Although it doesn't show in this photo (he was acting a little shy), Ben truly loves Ms. Sarabeth. He initially called her Ms. Sarabad, but finally got it right after many gentle corrections. :)The cool rug in Ben's classroom.
This is Ben's "shape"...his assigned spot. He does love airplanes!
Ben showed me how he sits "criss-cross applesauce" on his shape.
Ben standing next to his "cubby".
Ben's nameplate on his cubby.
I asked Ben to tell me what his favorite thing was about his classroom and he said "storytime". He showed me where this took place and proceeded to act very silly. That's Ben for you!
Before we left his room, Ben said "Wait! Mama, look what I can do" and turned the light on and off in the bathroom without using the stepstool...no doubt a HUGE feat for a toddler. I am so proud of him!
